Ptarmigan lodge has been designed in the style of a North American ski lodge and enjoys relaxing views across the river to the ancient Abernethy Forests in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. The nearby Cairngorms are home to the elusive Ptarmigan, a rare mountain dwelling bird, after which the lodge is named. The outside Hot Tub allows you to relax and soak in the peace and quiet of the forest and listen to the river. Ptarmigan Lodge is close to the Cairngorm Ski Centre so we can be on the slopes early to catch the best skiing as well as a warming hot chocolate at the restaurant! Unfortunately this property does not accept stag/hen groups or party groups.

Proceed up the hill for about a mile. Ptarmigan Lodge is on the right opposite a small cottage with a corrugated iron roof, call Flox Cottage.
Ptarmigan Lodge is a log cabin with skis on the front and large boulders in the front. If you some to a cross road you have gone too far
There is parking at the property for several cars, the only thing we ask is if you are unable to use the driveway you don't block any other residents in.

We loved the lodge and the hot tub also. We all had plenty of room in the lodge and there is a brilliant view from the hot tub. The chippy on the Monday was also amazing. Me and my dad played nine holes of golf at the Abernethy Golf Club and loved it. We would all love to come back here.
