This is a wonderful flat which welcomes you from the moment you step through the front door with its cosy but contemporary finishes. The flat is located off Dundas Street, on Fettes Row, a quiet street closed to through-traffic. It is 5 minutes’ walk to the bustling centre of Stockbridge, with its Sunday market, speciality shops and wealth of pubs and restaurants. The flat is 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre and the main tourist sights of Edinburgh.
Typical of Georgian townhouses, you go down a short flight of stairs to the front door and find yourself in a lovely long entrance hall. To the left as you enter is a twin bedroom. With cosy beds, stripped wooden floors and wardrobe in the corner, this is the perfect snug city hideaway. As you continue down the hall, the main newly-fitted bathroom is on your left, with WC, sink and bath with shower over. The beautiful light and airy master bedroom is to the rear of the property, is exceptionally spacious and comes with a new en-suite shower room with walk in shower, WC and sink. The bedroom itself features a king size bed, antique furniture, plenty of storage for longer trips and a chair in the corner where you can curl up with a good book from the shelves or take in the garden to the rear of the flat.
Following the spiral stairs down to the rest of the flat, to the right at the bottom is the large family kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped as the owners and their children often spend time at the property, so most bases are covered. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, large fridge freezer and gas hob. Nestled in the corner by the window is a charming window seat area where you can rest up after a busy day in the city before dinner around the large dining table. There are lovely details throughout like the exposed beams on the ceiling and the rich deep green tiles all around the counters.
Completing the property is the bright and cosy living room with exposed ceiling beams, looking over the rear gardens. Here you can relax on the sofas whilst watching TV, reading, or playing games gathered around the table in the corner.
Whatever your reason for visiting, this property is a gem tucked away in the heart of the city and will surely be the perfect spot for your getaway!
One super king bed
One twin room with two single beds
Upstairs there is a house bathroom next to the twin room and an ensuite bathroom off the master bedroom.
Downstairs there is living room and kitchen.
Outside there is a small patio area and steps leading up to street level.
There are approximately 5 steps from street level into the property and then around 20 between the 2 levels once in the apartment.
Edinburgh airport is 13km away, the tram can be taken from the airport to the Princes Street stop (approximately 30 minutes). From here you can either walk down to the property (approximately 16 minutes) or grab a taxi / bus from Princes Street (Number 24).
Fettes Row is close to the city centre so you are in a restricted parking zone. There are some pay and display parking spaces available on the surrounding streets and at the end of Fettes Row just before Dundas Street (next to the bins), these spaces are restricted Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30. Outside of these hours, parking is free. If you are wanting to park a car for free during the permit holders / restricted parking times then the best location would be on Ferry Road which is around a 30 minute walk. Alternatively secure parking can be found at both the NCP and Q-park at the Omni Centre (these are around a 20 minute walk).
Fettes Row is situated in the New Town not that far from Stockbridge. It is an easy walk up to the main tourist sites from this location.
You are in the hearth of the city centre so there are lots on indoor and outdoor activities. Although not mentioned above the Royal Botanic Gardens are definitely worth paying a visit to and less then 1km away.
